  8. Bubbles is a simple but taxing puzzle game that is very similar to Cascade for the Psion.  I own one of these great little computers myself and got quite hooked on its Cascade game.  One thing led to another and before I knew it my PC gave birth to this Windows version.

  11. Playing the Game

  14. The object of the game is to clear the board of bubbles by clicking on them using the mouse.  However you can only remove bubbles that are clustered.  Basically clicking on a cluster of bubbles of the same colour will remove that entire cluster.
  15. Note that when bubbles are removed any higher bubbles will drop down.  Also, if you take out a column then all bubbles to the right (across the board) will be shifted along to fill the gap.

  17. The more bubbles taken out per move, the higher the points, therefore clearing the board in the least number of moves will produce a higher score. Also note that an additional 500 points bonus will be awarded if the board is totally cleared.

  23. - Fixed numerous bugs in the JGUI library (the graphical interface used for buttons etc).  This fixed the bug that prevented the help from working after viewing the high scores.  There were also problems with lock-ups under Windows 2000, this was an issue with the mouse status being reported incorrectly which should now be rectified.

  25. - Removed loading and saving of games because this gave an unfair advantage and was basically pointless.

  27. - Added a screen shot button so you can capture your own game screen shots.

  35. - Fixed two bugs with "Reset High Scores" dialog.  Bug 1 was that "high" was typed as "hight" and bug 2 was that clicking "No" reset the scores and "Yes" cancelled!

  37. - Changed some of the sounds to be more appropriate, this makes bubbles sound more like bubbles and not lumps of concrete!

  43. Bubbles is freeware.  In this case this means that you can give it to anybody you like in its original form free of charge. This includes putting  it on CDs and other media (including web sites an other on-line resources) for distribution but Bubbles itself has to be free of charge!

  45. You use this software entirely at your own risk.

  47. The only things that you can't do are modify Bubbles or claim that it is the work of anybody except me.

  54. A. Install DirectX.  You can download the lastest version from www.microsoft.com.

  57. A. Ensure that you have this file in the same directory as the game.  If this is already the case then ensure that you are running "bubbles.exe" from the game folder.
